It sounds something like this Statshot from The Onion, Why Are We Deleting Our Facebook Accounts?. The one that says “Misspelled something in last status update, unsure how else to correct it.”
We had a problem with creating a Facebook app entry for a new iOS app that posts to Facebook, and a problem with its linked Facebook Page. We added the app to Facebook before they decided to make App Profile Pages obsolete and migrate them to regular Facebook Pages. We were supposed to click a link to migrate the page before the February 1st deadline, but because we were busy actually trying to ship the app, we didn’t get around to doing that until February 9th. Now, the link to migrate is gone, but our old App Profile Page is still there, with no way to transition to a regular Facebook Page.
I posted to Stack Overflow, but I never got any answers. Just a couple useless comments.
I also read the “How To” blog post on the Facebook developers blog about this migration, which isn’t actually a how-to. The real how-to is from December, and has over 250 blog comments.
I made it through about 50 before realizing what a mess developer support is on Facebook.
So I ended up deleting the app on Facebook and creating a new one.
